Disable SSID #1

Reported by: ryangrimes Owned by: dfl-owner

Component: dashboard Keywords:

Description

Not a huge thing, but we are looking to use the devices in businesses/homes for the MESH aspect, but they might not want a public network. We would like the ability to disable SSID #1 since it doesn't bridge to LAN anyways.

  • component changed from firmware to dashboard

The dashboard needs an option for that.

This is a great idea, I would like expand the concept and have the ability to turn the SSID#1 on/off for individual APs.

It's been 10 months since this was requested, any progress?

I know that we too would like to see this option added to Cloudtrax. This would create a completely new model for selling our customers on a more enterprise wireless solution that would not include a public facing network. Any update on this?

Would also love to see this feature added.

There is little value in leaving more "me too" messages here. The feature is on our list but has a rather low priority. We'll update this ticket once the feature is available.

Just out of curiosity, if more people say "me too" that means that more people want it. If more people want it, shouldn't it get pushed up in priority?

Changed 3 months ago by marek

Our priority is based upon the feedback we get. Unfortunately, this is wrong place to "push" for $your_feature. In case you haven't noticed: It is a bug tracker for the developers not a feature voting platform. The "me too" messages in this bug tracker are hardly going to influence the priority - it just wastes time, essentially your time.

Let me add to this: For those that wish their feature request vote to be heard, please head over to  http://support.open-mesh.com. There is the right place for "me too" messages. ;-)

Thanks
